Most refreshing Sugarcane Juice
Nature's cooling drink!
SUGARCANE
Sugar cane is a tall plant of two to six feet; it is a jointed, fibrous stalk that stores carbohydrates. Sugarcane belongs to the grass family. About 80% of the world’s sugar comes from countries Brazil, India, China, and the USA. Sugarcane makes the maximum amount of sugar to date. You can chew on sugarcane or drink sugarcane juice. Sugarcane also treats urinary tract issues, boosts antioxidant levels, and benefits pregnant women and diabetic patients (in moderation for diabetic patients). A calm, chilled sugarcane juice on a hot summer day is like heaven’s delight. This juice is not just relishing but provides many other health benefits. While growing up in India I used to wait for summers to drink the sugarcane juice; Everyday I would take an empty can of a couple of liters size and wait for the sugarcane wala at the end of the lane to open his shop. I would come home and drink it through the day with a Chacha Choudary or Tinkle!.
I probably never noticed it growing up ; but there are almost always a ton of flies around the machine with the dust accumulating on the vessel or strainer; not to mention the hands of the sugarcane wala are not remotely clean. During my visits to India while living in US, I used to take a bottled mineral water with me and make the sugarcane wala wash the machine and his hands with it, and then make the juice for me :D. As OCD as it sounds, I had friends who fell immensely sick after drinking this on the road and I couldn't take that chance during my short visit to India. Now that we moved to India, I crave for sugarcane juice almost weekly and given its immense health benefits I made sure my kids had it almost every other day during summer after coming back from school!. I found ONE place that was somewhat clean but after we moved out of the locality it became harder to access his place and I was starved of sugarcane juice for the longest time. It also made me sad that the coke and junk stalls have become more prevalent than just pure unadulterated foods and sugarcane juice - which India is a producer of, is not easily accessible in a clean form in many places. CocoNuttyCane was born out of our own need as a family and hoping we can help more families and kids have easy access to healthy and safely made sugarcane juice! Lets make Sugarcane cool again!
